“Lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ…” (President Obama, National Prayer Breakfast, 2015).
“Lest” us clear some stuff up here about Christianity’s Jesus Christ and Islam’s Muhammed.
Did Jesus rape little children and beat women? Nope. Did Muhammed? Yep. In fact, he took a 9-year old girl as one of his many brides, and of course beat them whenever he got the chance.
Did Jesus go around lobbing the heads off of people or crucifying them? No, but he was actually crucified, after he was tortured. Did Jesus go on a worldwide Crusade, a bloodthirsty hundreds of year’s long campaign to convert people of other faiths? No he did not. He went to the cross.
There are so many ways in which Obama is wrong about Christianity, and his obsession with spreading lies about the faith is distressing since the man professes to be a Christian. He is as ashamed of his faith as he is the white half of himself.
It is important that people understand the true meaning of “Religion of Peace,” and trust that it is not the faith laying claim to the term—Islam is rooted in a history of violence—albeit Old Testament kind of violence.
Christianity, with the coming of Christ and the New Testament by which we strive to live, is rooted in love.
One is based on kill thy neighbor if they offend, and the other is based on love they neighbor and cut off one’s own limb if it offends.
One is a Religion of Pieces and the other a Religion of Peace.
