According to this, biology professor Bret Weinstein of Evergreen State College in Washington state decided not to participate in the school’s “Day of Absence” event where white students and faculty were asked/ordered to leave campus for the day.
Bret Weinstein, a biology professor at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, criticized the way the college’s Day of Absence event would be structured this year in an email to other faculty.
First of all – this is actually a thing? Like, it’s okay for a college to stop people from coming onto campus based on their skin color? Never mind that this is where Weinstein works? This is his livelihood? I don’t blame the guy for refusing to participate. He’s probably got important things to do anyway.
But if you thought the Cult of Social Justice was going to stand for Weinstein’s blatant disregard for their precious snowflake FEEEEEEEELINGS, you thought wrong.
On the day of the event, students blocked the door to Weinstein’s office and chewed him out for being racist and bigoted and having white privilege… you know the drill by now –
‘There’s a difference between debate and dialectic. Debate means you are trying to win, dialectic means you are using disagreement to discover what is true,’ the professor told the students gathered outside his classroom.
‘I am not interested in debate. I am only interested in dialectic, which does mean I listen to you, and you listen to me.’
One student responded: ‘We don’t care what terms you want to speak on. This is not about you. We are not speaking on terms—on terms of white privilege. This is not a discussion. You have lost that one.’
Some of the students in the video defended their professor, but others can be heard shouting at him before they walk out.
Debate? Discussion? In the face of social justice mob rule? Yeah, not happening.
Weinstein tweeted out what was going on during the protest on campus. Police told him that they could not guarantee his safety if he remained –
(“George” refers to college president George Bridges, just FYI.)
Well, this is a FANTASTIC event idea, Evergreen College. Whoever thought up this little stunt needs to be slapped. Not just because it put people’s safety at risk – that’s just the result of these stupid temper tantrums.
But because it keeps perpetuating this idiotic idea that minorities are these super-oppressed subgroups in America.
Nothing could be further from the truth. What’s worse is that the Perpetually Victimized refuse to admit that things have gotten better or ever will get better. They just like being picked-on and crying out for sympathy that they don’t deserve.
It would be pathetic if they didn’t cause so much hate and anger and violence over it.
