MSNBC Host Fires Back After ‘Cheap Shot’ About Ivanka Trump [VIDEO]

"You don't have to be so snotty."

MSNBC’s Morning Joe show Wednesday morning included an on-air tiff about Ivanka Trump’s role in the Trump administration.

The fuss began when co-host Joe Scarborough tried to find a positive aspect about how the administration was functioning.

Scarborough referred to a behind-the-scenes power struggle between White House strategist Steve Bannon and White House adviser Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law.

Bannon had initially been a member of the National Security Council, but was recently removed.

“Better her [Ivanka Trump] and Jared than some other people who had his ear,” Scarborough said. “Things are going better on the National Security Council. That didn’t just happen. That was a battle inside the White House and guess what, Jared and Ivanka won.”

Panelist Eddie Glaude Jr. argued that input from Trump’s family was still wrong as long as they hold White House jobs, even if something positive has come from it.

“It would be unreasonable to say that there are not any goods that might follow from nepotism, but it’s still nepotism,” Glaude said.

Kushner is a paid White House employee; Ivanka Trump is an unpaid employee.

Scarborough countered that the influence of family has not always been bad when it comes to America’s presidents.

“My political hero was appointed Attorney General for his brother, and Republicans didn’t like that back then. I think if you looked at Bobby Kennedy’s record, some good things came out of that,” he said.

Co-host Mika Brzezinski pounced on the remark.

“So you’re comparing Ivanka Trump to Bobby Kennedy?” she scoffed.

“You don’t have to be so snotty,” Scarborough shot back. “I was about to say, you didn’t let me get it out. You don’t have to be so rude.”

The dispute between the two was fodder for Twitter:

Scarborough tried to get back to the subject, but failed.

“The fact of the matter is that they are not Bobby Kennedy as I was about to say but you wanted to get your cheap shot in so you got your cheap shot in. No, I am not saying Jared and Ivanka are Bobby Kennedy,” he said.

“I am saying just like when John Kennedy had a question, he called the one person he could trust in the world, Bobby Kennedy,” the host continued. “When Donald Trump needs to talk to somebody, he talks to these two people.”
